A devoted drummer with nearly two full decades of experience, Vinnie E. Parma has made substantial effort in making a name for himself across the United States, as well as all over the globe. Based out of Dallas, Texas, USA, Vinnie is not only an accomplished percussionist, but singer/songwriter, entertainer, businessman, composer, guitarist, and pianist.
Vinnie’s dedication to music and entertaining has taken him across the globe, playing to vast audiences and inspiring future generations to create music. In his spare time, Vinnie works as a drum tech for various bands (locally and nationally), stage manager/stagehand, music instructor and in production as an audio technician, lighting designer, and projectionist.
At an early age, Vinnie’s growing love for music became apparent, receiving his first electronic drum kit as a Christmas present at age eight. At age twelve, he received his first acoustic drum kit. With origins in country music performance, Vinnie was promptly sought after to back local country artists and within the following year, was touring part-time locally and regionally. Throughout his early and pre-teen years, Vinnie’s musical tastes grew within various genres spanning from classic rock, hair metal, jazz and blues to hiphop, R&B, and classical, drawing inspiration from drummers such as Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, and Neil Peart of Rush. By age sixteen, he took a focused interest in heavy metal and hard rock genres and began learning how to read and write sheet music to further understand the complex instrument. Between the ages of seventeen and eighteen, Vinnie‘s enthusiasm to compose more intricate and complex pieces of music was his pure focus. During this time, Vinnie found a group of local musicians who expressed the same interests, passion, and devotion to music and after several years of musical experimentation, turned his focus to musical discipline. Completely reevaluating every aspect of his playing and studying from musical educators such as Dave Weckyl, Thomas Lang, and Virgil Donati, Vinnie was able to effectively build upon his techniques, style, and overall performance, letting his ambition drive him throughout his career.
With many years of national and international touring, recording, songwriting, performing and musical-related travels, Vinnie speaks passionately through his music and expresses himself through his instrument with his flashy tricks, aerobatic drumming, silly facial expressions, aggressive attitude onstage and humble attitude offstage, and successful delivery to audiences worldwide.
